Professional Audio Productions for eLearning

In the process of developing eLearning tools for your business? Get the “WOW” factor and incorporate a professional audio production to really enhance the learning experience for your students.

Why Invest in a Professional Production?
If you are a professional enterprise then your eLearning applications will be a reflection of your company. So doesn’t it make sense that you ensure that it sounds professional?

Entertaining Voices
How many people sound good when they record their own voices? A monotone voice will eventually bore your listens, but a captivating production will keep them entertained for longer. An audio production company employ professional voice artists to read your script.

The Right Resources
Professional recording studios will also have access to the right microphones, interfaces and software to really develop a captivating production. They will also have the right equipment to clean the audio – by eliminating background noise, that’s if there is any (most will have recording studios with sound proof booths). And their professional audio engineers will liven your production up with the use of music and sound effects.

Furthermore, they will have the ability to compress your audio files so that you can use them over a number of applications, and they will be able to save them for you in a range of formats.

E-learning covers many channels; from web-based learning, in-house training, computer education, training videos, iPads and mobile applications, all of which require different formatting. A professional production company will know how to effectively create audio that is suitable for each.

To best educate your pupils, ensure you have interesting and enticing audio that will keep your listeners captivated for longer. Contact Media Sound today and find out how we can help bring your e-learning production alive.

Creative Copywriting

We’re a rather mixed bunch at Media Sound, but the two things we all have in common is our creativity and our love of audio advertising; and our team of creative copywriters are no exception, we really love what we do!

You see, writing is different for each channel and many writers will specialise in just one area. For instance you have blog writers, technical writers, print copywriters and broadcast writers – just to name a few; and each channel requires different styles and techniques.

Audio advertising is a specialised industry and is governed by many factors: timing, association and legislation. It is important copywriters in our industry are able to get straight to the point, convey a given message within 15 – 30 seconds, representing a brand effectively without infringing on any laws.

Copywriters in the audio industry need to be able to evoke emotion with a few simple words. Whether it be for radio, television or for your telephone messages on hold, you need to have a compelling, powerful and clear script that will appeal to your customers and entertain and educate them about your products and services.

The best thing about writing for audio is that we get to have fun with our use of words, insertion of sound effects and voice styles.

The copywriting team at Media Sound have a mixed and varied range of experience, both within the audio and print industries. We have copywriters dedicated to writing for our audio productions such as radio and television commercials and telephone message on hold programs. Creating a Happy Environment in the Workplace

Good Staff

If you are a small business, then employing, and keeping staff is vital to the success of your business, and it is even more so if you are a larger enterprise. Large staff turnover can cost your business thousands, that’s why it is so important that management focus on creating a happier work environment.

There is an abundance of research that proves a happy and friendly workplace significantly increases productivity, vastly improves results and reduces staff turnover. In fact, many Australians will stay in a job they are happy in, even if they are offered more money to go elsewhere.

So how can you create a happy and inviting environment for your staff?

Hire the Right People
When employing staff, make sure you hire people that are likely to fit your company’s culture and will fit with your existing staff. Skills are certainly important, however, a team that works well together will also be extremely beneficial and will improve your bottom line.

Good Management
Good management is pivotal to any business, and you need to employ people who know how to manage people – and by manage we mean work with, nurture and help grow your staff. Your staff need to feel as though they can trust and rely on their management and feel safe in their environment.

Flexible Work
Flexible working hours are now the norm for many businesses – and it is a great negotiating tool when employing staff. Maybe you can offer part-time employment, flexible hours or even the possibility of working remotely from home. By offering flexible working conditions that is favourable to your employees, they are more likely want to keep their job, and work harder. Resulting in happy staff and greater productivity.

Encourage your Staff
This is an obvious one, but one that is often overlooked by management. Everyone has an ego, no matter how big or small, people like to be given encouragement. Whether it be a pat on the back for a job well done, or by having confidence in them to get a job done. Either way, trust your staff and let them know they are valued in your organisation.

These are just some of the ways that you can create a happy environment in your workplace and increase productivity, and significantly reduce staff turnover. Not only will your staff enjoy coming to work, but also so will you.

We’re proud to say, that at Media Sound our team of copywriters, voice artists and audio technicians work in an environment where they feel safe and secure in the positions, and we have a relatively small staff turnover.

Radio Imaging

Radio Imaging

Media Sound isn’t just an audio production company for corporates, we can also produce high quality radio imaging for commercial stations. In fact, our audio engineers all have vast experience in audio production for radio stations, and this is an area that we specialise in.

For those not in the know, radio imaging is the art of professional recordings aimed at promoting radio stations on the, well radio.  Think of radio imaging as a promotion for a radio station, or the one-liners that you hear on air. Just like any other business, a radio station has to promote themselves in order to increase their audience.

Radio imaging is also referred to as station IDs, and is basically what the name suggests, an audio recording aimed at helping the audience identify the radio station. Again it all comes down to branding and educating their target audience.

And just as you would with any other marketing, there is a lot that goes into radio imaging. It’s this creativity that will connect with the audience. These audio productions have to be as compelling as the music itself and therefore good use of voices, music and sound effects is an absolute must. Radio imaging is basically a representation of the radio station itself.

Media Sound is a leading Australian audio production company and we have a team of industry professionals who have worked in the broadcast industry for many years. We have a large library of professional voice artists and experienced and creative copywriters and audio engineers to ensure you get the most professional audio production to represent your station.

Don’t just take our word for it, view our radio imaging demonstrations online today or call one of our professional representatives on 1300 736 465.

Are Jingles Effective?

Jingles Audio Productions

We all love a good jingle here and there. And you’ve got to admit, a good jingle is one that gets stuck in your head … well from a marketers perspective anyway. A good jingle becomes a memorable melody, which usually features a slogan and sometimes a phone number. Jingles are usually repetitive, done strategically so that the audience remembers them. So are jingles effective?

Think McDonalds. How many times has your stomach started to grumble and you think "bah-da-ba-ba-bah, I'm lovin' it" … then you’ve got Maccas in your head and possibly your stomach.

Cottees cordial: “My dad picks the fruit to make the cordial, that I like best.”

Weetbix: “Weetbix kids are Aussie kids, are Weet-Bix – Kids.”

Chicken Tonight: “I feel like Chicken Tonight, Chicken tonight.”

These are just some of Australia’s iconic jingles, that regardless of whether you love or hate them, they have the ability to get into your head and remind you that the brand exists.

A catchy jingle will not only get inside the head of consumers, but also has the capacity to get free publicity from other channels where consumers repeat the catch lines. YouTube is a great example of people recycling and recreating catchy jingles to publish online.

If you are looking at investing in a creative and catchy jingle for your business, then contact the experienced team at Media Sound, we will be more than happy to sit with you to devise a strategy and create a catchy jingle that will capture the attention of your intended audience. Writing Effective Radio Commercials

Writing for Radio

Writing for radio is a specialty in itself. In a matter of 15 – 30 seconds, you really need to convey the marketing message as clearly as possible and also offer a call to action. Good script writing is just as important as the voice over and the audio production itself. Below are a few key tips on how to get the most out of your radio commercials.

Identify the Key Points
What is it that you are promoting? Stick to one product, service or event – too much more and you will confuse your audience. You will then need to provide one point of contact – do you want your customers to call you, email you are come in and visit you? Select only one per advertisement and make sure that you end your commercial with your call to action.

Don’t Use Riddles
Again, we stress you only have 15 – 30 seconds to convey your message, try not to be too vague or dry in your approach – not everyone will get your humour. If you want to appeal to the masses, then you need to communicate in a way that they can understand it.

Keep it Simple Stupid
We cannot stress enough that you need to keep your radio script as simple as possible. 15 – 30 seconds is not that long, but it is long enough to have a successful campaign that drives traffic to your website or generates leads. Again – get straight to the point and be clear and concise in what you want your customers to do.

The team at Media Sound highly recommends that you employ the services of a skilled radio copywriter to write up your radio script. As we mentioned above, writing for radio and television is a specialty in itself and even the language is different to your everyday print copy. An experienced copywriter can work with you to determine the fine details so that you can create a radio or television commercial that makes an impact.

Audio Sharing on Facebook

Audio Production

Have you recently invested in a good quality audio production from the very experienced team at Media Sound and now want to share your audio advertisement with the world? Then we suggest you start promoting your new production through a number of online channels: Your website, YouTube and of course Facebook.

It is important to note though, you cannot upload your MP3 file directly to Facebook. They do this so that you cannot post media clips that you do not own, rather you will have to have a link that you can post on Facebook.

Media Sound
At Media Sound, we know how important it is for you to be able to share your audio production, so we make this process easy for you.

Simply call one of our experienced audio technicians and we will make up a little YouTube video with your logo and a short message to go with your audio production and then we will send you the link. From there all you will need to do, is log in to your Facebook business page and insert the link in your status. Your logo should then come up as the thumbnail on the status update.

Host it on your Website
Another way for you to upload your audio production to Facebook is to host your MP3 on your website, then once you have the URL (ie: www.yourdomain.com.au/audio-production), then simply go to your Facebook business page and put the URL into the status update – and there you have it.

Get the most out of your audio advertising and share it with the world. The Internet gives you a much wider reach at a fraction of the cost that you would pay with radio. You never know, your audio production could go viral – and you could experience millions of hits throughout the world.

Google Loves Content

Google loves good content

There has been a lot of changes to Google’s algorithms in the past year, and the most recent Penguin update saw that even more changes were made to how Google views a website. In the past, links from other sites – what some called the Google popularity contest, was the important factor. However, Google has now decided that good quality websites, with good quality content is effectively more important than building hundreds of links.

According to a blog that was posted on Search Engine Land on 19th June, Google has recently updated their ranking article in the Google Webmaster documentation. Previously this site stated that high quality links were extremely beneficial to a website’s ranking, whereas now, it states:

“In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by creating high-quality sites that users will want to use and share.”

Why the importance on good content and not links? We’ve outlined some of the reasons that we believe below:

Good Relevant Content = Experts in Field
Google’s aim is to make sure that the search results they bring up are relevant to their audience’s search, and they want to make sure that the information on that site is of a decent quality and related to the searchers enquiry.

In effect, they want to make sure that their customers are getting the right results every time and are finding sites that are operated by people who can provide accurate and informative information. They are improving the experience for their customers. Smart business move if you ask us.

Good Content Should Drive Traffic
In essence, if your website is of good quality with good content, then Internet users will want to visit your website, and share your information. So by providing good quality content, visitors to your site will want to share and promote your website for you, and will effectively build links naturally rather than spammy ones that we see many businesses have generated today.

Creating content for your website shouldn’t be too hard if you are passionate about what you do and know what you are talking about. Make sure you have a strategy in hand and know your target market. At the end of the day, you want good quality traffic to your website, not an abundance of traffic that isn’t really interested in what your core offering is.

Media Sound is a leading provider of quality audio productions for use in a range of multimedia applications, including radio and television commercials, corporate presentations and videos and audio productions for online and social media applications.

Lending a Voice: Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland

Media Sound Donate to Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland

Media Sound is proud to announce that we have helped kicked off the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland’s 2013 door knock appeal by donating our voices in a series of radio commercials.

The annual door knock appeal kicks off on 15th June 2013 with 30,000 volunteers trying to raise $1.2million for this worthy cause.

The Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer, Bill Petch, said the appeal is a much-needed event in order to raise funds for services such as patient accommodation, counselling and transport.

“The Doorknock Appeal relies heavily on the generosity of the community, with last year’s appeal raising $2 million to complete two new accommodation villages in Townsville and Brisbane, giving regional and remote families free accommodation while undergoing medical treatment,” Mr Petch said (as stated on http://www.lfq.org.au).

Australian audio production company, Media Sound, were eager to get behind the cause and donate their voices and services to produce radio commercials to raise awareness for the event.

Media Sound’s managing director and production manager, Ben Harrison, said the company is a big advocate of the charity and was delighted to help in anyway they could.

“It is truly amazing what the Leukaemia Foundation has done for many Queenslanders. We were honoured to be able to offer our services, and if the radio commercials help them to meet their target, then it certainly is worthwhile.

“We really encourage are customers and other Australian businesses to donate to the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland. Every little helps,” said Mr Harrison.

Media Sound is one of Queensland’s leading audio production companies, who specialise in providing professional voice recordings and audio productions for radio, television and corporate presentations. For more information about their audio production services, please visit www.mediasound.com.au.

Audio Advertising: Requires Good Communication

 Audio Productions Gold Coast

Even if you are a master of words, you may still be deemed as a lousy communicator! You see if you and your business want to conduct an audio advertising campaign, then you will need to be straight to the point, concise and extremely clear with your message. Failure to do so unfortunately will mean a big fail with your audio campaign.

Straight to the Point
With radio, TV or even telephone messages on hold, you have a very limited time to get your point across, usually about 30 seconds, and in that time you also need to capture your audiences attention. It is best to have one message, with one contact. In audio there is no time to beat around the bush. Know what you need to say, and say it.

Concise
As mentioned above; with audio advertising you need to be brief, but comprehensive.

Be Extremely Clear
Again you have 30 seconds to make yourself clear. Be careful not to try and be too clever with riddles are dry humour, your audience just may not get and will then switch off to your message. Again we stress, get straight to the point and be extremely clear.

Audio advertising is an effective means of communications, but it requires great communication to get off the ground. The experienced team at Media Sound produce quality audio productions for radio, television, corporate presentations and social media platforms. Call us today on 1300 736 465.
