In a bid to help raise funds for research into ovarian cancer, Media Sound is lending their voice to the charity and donating the audio productions for this worth cause.
Media Sound’s national operations manager, Ben Harrison, is a huge advocate for the charity and jumped at the chance to help the Women’s Cancer Foundation raise awareness about the event.
“It’s crazy to think that ovarian cancer is the 9th most common cancer diagnosed in Australian women. It’s great to see an inspirational group who are willing to walk 100km in order to raise funds for research into ovarian cancer.
“We really wanted to help out in whatever way we could, and I guess with the nature of our business, we quite literally get to be the voice for this worthy charity.
“Our whole team jumped onboard! Our very creative copywriters put pen to paper. Our professional voice artists volunteered their time to voice the reading; and our audio engineers weaved their magic and mixed the production. We hope it all helps in getting the word out there,” explained Ben.
The ‘100 Women Walk’ event is to be held in Melbourne on Saturday, 8th September, and is open to all Australian women who are willing to put their best foot forward.
Teams of four women will be each expected to walk 100km, and each individual must raise $1,000. There is also a 10km option.
According to the Women’s Cancer Foundation’s website: “We are walking for the 100 women who are newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer each month.”
Unfortunately, there isn’t a high survival rate. So research is desperately needed.
If you are up for the challenge, then register by simply visiting their website at www.womenscancerfoundation.org.au.
“We urge all of our customers to get involved, whether it be by entering the walk or simply by contributing the worthy cause. We wish the Women’s Cancer Foundation all the best,” said Ben.
